CMA Part 2

Financial Decision Making

 This course covers the material included on the IMA's Content Specification Outline for CMA Part 2 - Financial Decision Making.

This course is designed for:

  • Anyone desiring to take and pass part 2 of the CMA Examination.
  • There are no prerequisites for this overview level course. There is no advance preparation necessary, but some review of the material prior to the live-lecture workshops is advised.

Objectives - You will learn:

  • Financial Statement Analysis topics including short-term liquidity, capital structure and solvency, return on invested capital, profitability analysis, and earnings-based analysis.
  • Corporate Finance topics including the management and financing of current assets,  risk and return, financial instruments, and the cost of capital.
  • Decision analysis and risk management topics include relevant data in the decision process, cost-volume-profit analysis, marginal analysis (special orders, make or buy, and other analyses), and pricing (supply and demand, cost-bsed pricing, target pricing)..
  • How to make better investment decisions using such models as discounted cas flow methods (net present value and internal rate of return), non-discounted methods (payback method and accrual accounting rate of return), ranking of investment projects, and real options in capital budgeting.
  • Professional Ethics including general ethical rules and ethical procedures in business.

You Will Gain:

  • The knowledge necessary to take and pass part 2 of the CMA examination.
