Ethics for CPAs and CMAs in Business and Industry

This course is designed for:

  • CPAs and CMAs desiring a comprehensive ethics sensitivity training program for both accountants and financial professionals in business and management.
  • Ethics Officers reviewing their internal internal ethical system's principles and procedures.
  • Internal auditors attempting to assess ethical and legal risk and control features.
  • Start-up companies desiring to create a Code of Conduct and compliance procedures.

Objectives - You will learn:

  • How to design, implement, and improve an internal corporate code of ethics required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • How to identify relevant facts, principles, and risks involved in making corporate ethical decisions presented on a department-by-department level..
  • Responsibilities and conduct of corporate employees arising under a Code of Ethics.
  • How to advise your employer on procudures and practices useful to imporve their internal corporate ethical compliance and reporting systems.

You will gain:

  • More confidence in your corporate and personal ethical judgments and decisions.
  • A sensitivity towards business ethical issues and dilemmas which may lead to corporate legal liability.
  • Familiarity with standard ethical reporting and compliance procedures.
  • 4 hours of NASBA-approved Quality Assurance Service (QAS) CPE credit approved by some State Boards of Accountancy as meeting their ethics requirement except those new CPAs in their first reporting period.

  • National Registry of CPE Sponsors non-interactive self-study CPE credit - 4 hours of Behavioral Ethics

Ethics for CPAs and CMAs in Business and Industry begins by sensitizing the participants to ethical dilemmas. Covered are human resources, wrongful termination, discrimination, ADA, sexual harassment, marketing, purchasing, manufacturing, off-shore activity, competition posture, anti-trust, financial fraud, and other organizational problems. Many questions apply the theory to actual on-the-job cases. Ethics for CPAs and CMAs in Business and Industry includes:

  • $ 116 paper media self-study program.
  • The materials include comprehensive textbooks with selected questions with full explanatory answers.  Also included is the CPE final exam, grading of the exam, and issuance of the CPE certificate.
