History of Rigos Professional Education Programs
This professional education school was founded in 1980 by James J. Rigos, CPA, CMA, CFM, J.D., LL.M. (tax). When Rigos CPA Review opened a "live-instruction" class in Seattle, we had 12 students in our first class.
At the time, this broke new ground because the only other coaching course providers in the market were courses that offered lectures from tapes. And while this course had "instructors" present to operate the tape recorder, the lecture was still canned. This novel feature - experienced teachers lecturing "live" in their specialty areas - was an instant success. The Rigos learning format was more familiar to college students, the classes were more exciting, the students worked harder and therefore more of the Rigos students passed. The word spread and the numbers grew.
In 1985, our school began a CMA Review Program for management accountants. In 1992, we introduced computerized question and answer drill software for students in our courses to complement our written text books. Magic Memory Outline software templates followed. In 1995, we opened a Bar review course for recent law school graduates. In 1996 we started a web-site and the first CFM course in the country. The key to this growth is student satisfaction and our relentless commitment to continual quality improvement.
In the past 20 years, over 60,000 professionals have completed the Rigos programs. If you are a serious accounting, finance, or law student and want a proven structure to maximize your certificate or license preparation, try us out; you will not be sorry.
