CPA Loss Control
4 Hour Self-Study Course
We have a self-study option for people who can not attend our live workshops. The self-study materials are the same comprehensive textbooks as those of the live workshops. Included is legal form software templates. At the end of the manual is a 50-question multiple-choice examination that is to be completed and returned to Rigos to be graded for CPE credit.
You will learn the latest loss control techniques including red flags and danger signals of bad clients, about avoiding the high risk practice areas and how to limit liability.
The materials cover the preparation of reporting, tax and MAS engagement letters using the Rigos standard forms and language. Client representation letters, attorney letter, and successor auditor letter are all covered.
You will learn about the expanded Family of Fraud Concerns covered by SAS 53, 54, 59, 82, and 99. You are also shown how to install an effective quality control system in your own CPA firm to increase profit and reduce risk.
The basic course costs $86 for 4 hours of CPE and does not include ethics topics. The Deluxe Loss Control contains 8 hours of CPE, costs $145 and includes the ethics text and legal form software templates for use in your CPA firm. These prices include domestic freight by UPS.

AUTHOR INFORMATION
- Jim Rigos is an accountant (CPA-CMA) and an attorney (JD, LLM) who graduated from Boston University Law School. He has written and lectured widely in the area of professional and corporate ethics and legal liability.
- He is an experienced mediator/arbitrator and a member of AICPA's Accountants Legal Liability Task Force. He also serves as a National Director of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs.
